We are excited to share with you our latest Inspiration Shoot with an Art Deco/ 1920s flare!
We had such an awesome time being part of this shoot! Upon entering the gates of the Kaleidescope Inn, we were transported by all the lush glamorous details that embody the era of the 1920’s. This styled shoot was definitely high style! From glitzy Gatsby allure to the clean geometric detailing of Art Deco, Zest it Up helped create magic through their design, catering and boutique rental pieces. Playing such a huge role in the feel and look of this shoot, we were charmed by Zest it Up’s talent and how easy they were to work with.
Our bride and her bridesmaids were first made-up to look the part by Sammy Williams of Sammy Williams Hair and Makeup at Bluebird Salon. Perfectly coiffed and picture ready with a pop of bright red lipstick, our ladies were set to celebrate.
The mood was established right from the beginning by the handmade invitations and menus created by Saskia with MOOI Weddings. The beauty is literally in the details, embellished with bits of gold thread, small feathers and vintage buttons to reveal our bride’s stylish personality to her guests. We hope you enjoy these photos as much as we enjoyed taking them! Not sure if you’ve heard of the song “Booty Swing by Parov Stelar, but we would recommend listening to it while viewing the photographs. Here is a link to the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xsoCki4pTk
The newlyweds pulled up to their reception in a vintage Model A in cherry condition from Hello Central SLO. The motor humming and the paint job gleaming, their entrance had massive star-quality!
Our fabulous couple and their party were served up some razzle-dazzle by candlelight in the garden. Zest it Up set the table in rich browns, golds, bronzes, silvers and the jewel tones of peacock feathers for decadence. Chelsea with Blissful Blossoms emboldened the drama by adding vibrant pops of gold, red, magenta and clean whites in a sumptuous floral runner for the table-scape. Even the the chairs were dripping in strands of pearls. One of the accents of decor was a vintage 1920s candlestick-style phone also provided by Hello Central SLO. It added the perfect touch to all of the other vintage rentals.
After dinner it was time to party! Crystal chandeliers, a full bar and decadent hors d’oeuvres of potato crisps with smoked salmon, mascarpone and cavier and duck confit on toast points with blackberries. The bride and groom manage a moment before cutting the stunning cake from Sugar Daddy’s Bake Shop. Then the night was turned over to the jitterbug and celebrating like movie stars at a party in the Hollywood Hills. True 1920’s drama and opulence…and a super great time for a photo shoot!
Also, a huge thank you to our wonderful models, Paden, Michael, Chad, Erika, Kendall, and Clayton! We certainly couldn’t have pulled this off without you guys!
